Downtown Denver dance photos are some of my favorite things to shoot. I’ve done a few shoots in the past with two talented ballet dancers who are studying dance all across the country, and this past winter I was so lucky to connect with Larissa, a former student of mine from Northglenn High School who is now studying dance in New York. We had a rather chilly day but Larissa toughed it out and we got some stunning shots with the Denver urban fabric as the backdrop.
For the shoot, we did a blend of digital images (seen first, below) and then we ran through a roll of Arista 35mm black + white film that was gifted to me a few years ago. I am so happy I got to use it for this shoot in particular; I think the grainy feel of the black + white images (at the end of the post) connect so well with the grungy city locations we used.
Thank you so much to the amazing Larissa for taking the time out of her winter break from classes to take some photos with me. I cannot wait to see where her career goes; I am sure she’ll be famous in no time.
Thanks for stopping by the blog. Enjoy my favorites from our session below!
