Georgia Travel Photos | The Henrys | Fall Vacation, Pt. II

The Henrys are the cutest little family that I know. I may be biased, but I don’t care. This past week, I went out to St. Simons Island, Georgia, to visit them in their humid habitat and snap a few cute photos of everyone. It was so fun to get to know the two girls; Ella is a voracious reader who, at age 10, has probably already devoured more books than I ever will in my lifetime, and Lili has seemingly never-ending amounts of energy who loves bacon + candy.

We spent a day on Jekyll Island, where we had a picnic on Driftwood Beach, and later biked around to Jekyll Island Club Hotel, an old historic lodge on the island that was built in 1886. We also swung by a county fair where we rode near barf-inducing rides (the one that spins around so fast that you’re stuck to the wall while your feet dangle; yeah, that one was exceptionally barfy) and won gold fish by throwing ping pong balls into tiny fish bowls.

I’m already planning my return next fall where I may choose to run a half-marathon either in Savannah or on Jekyll Island, under the drooping oak trees covered in moss. Running at sea level is so choice, as Shannon and I took a spin around the island one morning and it was insane how differently your body reacts to running alongside the ocean as opposed to barely sucking in any oxygen at a mile high.

Needless to say, I had a really lovely time visiting everyone. I hope that one day, my kids are as sweet + kind as Ella + Lili.
