Loveland Engagement Photos | S+C

Warning: These warm + cozy autumn Loveland engagement photos will definitely make you want to magically transport yourself back to September + October, when Colorado was overflowing with crunchy + glowing golden leaves and the weather was a crisp combination of brisk + sunny.

Sean + Christy chose to do their engagement session during this peak Colorado time, and despite a few heavy wind gusts, we had the picture perfect engagement session. They chose a small park close to their newly-purchased home in Northern Colorado, and we were so lucky to capture some of the last remnants of the fall season.

For most blog posts, I like to do a combination of color and black + white photos. But for this engagement session, I just couldn’t bring myself to mute those colors. Aren’t they spectacular?

Thank you for stopping by the blog! Stay tuned for their August wedding at Brookside Gardens in Berthoud!

Mini-interview with the couple

How did you two meet?

(Sean) We both worked at the same company.

(Christy) Employees were discouraged from dating, so I waited until after I left there to look him up.

(Sean) I’m glad she did, I asked her out right away. The rest is history!

How did you become engaged?

(Christy) The morning before we were supposed to fly to Maine for Christmas, I could tell something was up.

(Sean) I had been planning it for months, and I was terrified. I finally worked up the nerve to ask her to watch a video I made, documenting our three years together at that point. In the middle of the video it asked her to turn around.

(Christy) I knew as soon as the video started what it was, and I was so nervous. But the video was beautiful. When I turned around, Sean was on his knee with the ring.

(Sean) I was pretty emotional, but in the best way. I knew that those emotions I was feeling meant this was the real deal.

(Christy) Of course I said yes!

(Sean) Again, I’m very glad she did!

How did you end up selecting your wedding venue? What do you like about it?

(Christy) We really wanted an outdoor wedding, somewhere colorful that had a natural feel to it. We also wanted something unique, that had history, rather than something new and modern.

(Sean) It was literally one of the first places we went. I liked that they did a lot of weddings so they knew the drill, and I loved that they had a great area for the ceremony, pictures, dining and reception.

(Christy) Brookside Gardens really covered the whole package for us. They made us feel comfortable and that they would help us make sure our wedding came together seamlessly.

What are you most excited about for your wedding day?

(Christy) Marrying the man that I love!

(Sean) The food, and having my family here from Maine. And marrying my favorite person! Yeah, I am most excited about that part.

What is one piece of advice or tip you can give to other brides- and grooms-to-be who are also planning their wedding right now?

(Sean & Christy) Don’t put so much pressure on yourselves to please everyone. Do what will make the day special for you. Don’t get caught up in the little things; try to remember, you’re doing this together, so have some fun with it.

What do you love about your significant other?

(Sean) Christy is the sweetest person, I know that sounds cliché but its true. She wants the world to be beautiful. She’s goofy when no one is looking, and she takes care of me. We have so much fun together and I just want to be around her all the time.

(Christy) I love his sense of humor. There is never a dull moment because Sean is the life of the party. We always have so much fun together because he is so creative and we are always doing something new together. Sean has the biggest personality of anyone I know. He always brightens up a room when he walks in. Sean is my rock and I would be lost in this big crazy world without him.
